1. Read and follow all usage and warning labels before taking medication or working with chemicals.
2. Never share or sell prescription medication.
3. Never take more than one medication at the same time without the approval of your health care provider. Also follow medication guidelines for alcohol consumption.
4. Never mix household products because of the risk of toxic fumes.
5. Wear a protective mask when working with chemicals and make sure the area is well-ventilated. Wear gloves, protective clothing, and an eye guard if there is danger of splashing.
6. Keep the national poison control hotline number programmed into your phone.
