Teacher personal qualities that increase students' motivation to learn include: (1) personal teaching efficacy, believing you can get students to learn regardless of their background; (2) modeling and enthusiasm, such as communicating your own genuine interest in the topics you're teaching; (3) caring, such as being willing to spend extra time with students; and

Norm-referenced grading bases grades on students' performance compared to their peers. Criterion-referenced grading bases grades on the extent to which students meet a preset standard.
