Answer to Question 1

A food-borne infection occurs when someone eats food that is contaminated with harmful microorganisms and that makes you sick. An example is Salmonella. A food intoxication is the result of ingestion of a toxin or poison produced by a microorganism in the food and that makes one sick. An example is Staph.
