Answer to Question 2

A team is a group of staff members who work together to reach a common goal. Effective teamwork can increase productivity and better ensure that service levels will meet an operation's service-related standards. Team members who work closely together have increased creativity as they make decisions, solve problems, and help plan how to deliver high-quality customer service. Experienced managers know that the quality of teamwork relates directly to the quality of the customer experience that is provided. They also know that the manager is an important service team member. Managers can encourage teamwork by holding pre-shift team meetings. Held regularly, these meetings can be brief but still allow time to address a variety of important areas including teambuilding, providing new information, and achieving the organization's goals.
