Hypostatic pneumonia is related to inadequate aeration of the lungs seen frequently with immobile patients. Streptococcus pneumoniae is the most common causative organism for bac-terial pneumonia in the general population. Atypical pneumonia refers to pneumonia that does not present with the typical symptoms of pneumonia.
