Answer to Question 1

Instructions regarding alendronate (Fosamax) should include Do not eat anything for 30 minutes after taking a dose, Take on an empty stomach with 6 to 8 ounces of water in the morning, and Do not lie down for 30 minutes after taking the medication. This medication is not to be taken on a full stomach. This medication is provided orally; the client does not need to go to the physician's office for intravenous administration of the medication. This medication can be taken for longer than 6 months.

Answer to Question 2

The nurse can help provide education to clients about decreasing their risk of exposure to infected mosquitoes. Rats and cows do not carry the West Nile virus. Birds are the main reservoir for this virus.

Although the Roman numeral for the number 4 has always been taught to have been "IV," according to historians, the ancient Romans probably used "IIII" most of the time. This is partially backed up by the fact that early grandfather clocks displayed IIII for the number 4 instead of IV. Early clockmakers apparently thought that the IIII balanced out the VIII (used for the number 8) on the clock face and that it just looked better.
