Telling the mother to maintain bedrest after 34 weeks is not appropriate instruction. Capillary blood glucose levels should be performed several times a day. Restricting weight gain to 20 pounds to prevent macrosomia is not appropriate instruction. Weight gain depends on the mother's weight at conception.
