Answer to Question 1

The self-satisfaction product decision is triggered primarily by the need to satisfy personal tastes, many of which are influenced by self-image. Cigarettes, liquor, candy, and movies all fall here, along with such products as beer and soft drinks. Group influences are often apparent in the purchase of these items. The strategy model is do-feel-learn. The consumer is reacting to social pressures or to situationsloyalty will be hard to hold or short-lived.

Answer to Question 2

Sales promotion is a marketing communications tool specifically designed to provide consumers with some incentive inducing an immediate response, possibly in the form of purchase.
