Answer to Question 1

D

Answer to Question 2

Transportation firms are key players in international distribution, especially firms that can handle internodal transportation. internodal transportation has been greatly facilitated by containerization. For example, goods can be placed into containers at the factory, taken by truck to the train loading facility, transported to a port, loaded aboard a ship; after crossing the ocean, the container is loaded on a truck and transported to the final destination. Containerization does not work in all markets, however. For instance, most of the ports in West Africa have shallow drafts and cannot handle larger vessels that would use containers. Moreover, it may take weeks to unload the products from the container or it may be held indefinitely for customs inspection.

Early clockmakers apparently thought that the IIII balanced out the VIII (used for the number 8) on the clock face and that it just looked better.
