Answer to Question 1

Fans tend to overlook the bad behavior of top athletes. The bottom line is winning, and fans are willing to overlook the bad behavior of good athletes if they help their team win. If fans continue to support the athletes, they are, in a sense, condoning the behavior.

Answer to Question 2

Athletes taking illegal drugs for performance may be ineligible for play, causing harm to their team. Celebrities that demonstrate out-of-control behavior in public may lose fan interest. Musicians who make unpopular political statements may lose fans, leading to a decrease in concert attendance.
