Answer to Question 1

Organizational development (O.D) is defined as a set of social science techniques designed to plan and implement change in work settings for purposes of enhancing the personal development of individuals and improving the effectiveness of organizational functioning. Since the purpose is two-fold  enhancing organizational performance while improving the quality of work life and well-being of the employees, both the organization and the employees benefit from the change. Ideally a change agent, or OD practitioner from outside the organization, provides the catalyst for change. To be successful, all employees should provide input.
