Answer to Question 1

B
Stretching of all muscle groups increases flexibility and range of motion and assists in preventing muscle injury. Responses A, C, and D are incorrect. Stretching muscles increases functional range of motion but does not increase muscle endurance and strength. Stretching is viewed as an important part of all exercise programs.

Answer to Question 2

C
The meningococcal vaccine is a good idea because Mrs. Brown is immunocompromised secondary to her chemotherapy. MMR and hepatitis A would be indicated for her travel to Africa. If Mrs. Brown were up-to-date on her inoculations, she would not be eligible to receive her pneumococcal vaccine. This would be given only one time after age 65.
