Gastric stomach bypass: a small section of the small intestine is connected to a small pouch in the stomach.
Vertical-banded gastroplasty: much of the stomach is stapled, reducing capacity.
Stomach balloon: provides a greater sense of fullness.
Intestinal bypass: shortening of the intestine to allow food to pass more quickly.
Liposuction: surgical removal of excess fat.

A person must rid herself of all-or-nothing thinking; if a person slightly strays from a diet, it could prompt binge eating.
Change irrational beliefs by first recognizing them.
