At least 20 minutes to give heart and lungs a good workout.
Set a target heart range of 6085 of maximum attainable level.
Engage in sports such as running, fast cycling, brisk walking, and swimming.

Specific benefit from a specific exercise.
Weights will help build muscle not aerobic endurance.
Target a particular area.
Walking on a treadmill will not build upper body muscle.
