1. Warm-up - should involve 5 to 15 minutes to prepare the body for the more strenuous exercise to follow.
2. Cardiorespiratory and/or resistance training - may involve one or the other type of exercise or periods of both. Sessions typically last for at least 20 to 30 minutes total (can be longer), but with high-intensity interval training, the total time required may be lower.
3. Cool-down - 10 to 15 minutes of low-intensity movements and stretching.
