One afternoon, Carl was sent to the principal's office. Do you know why you're here? asked the principal. Is it about this morning? Carl asked. Your teacher says that you disrupted class, hit another student, started a food fight at lunchtime, and ran in the hall.
  Oh, that's a relief, said Carl, I thought maybe you figured out I was the one who broke your windshield.
