If the situation does not improve, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission may be able to help. The state board of nursing is in charge of enforcing the nurse practice act, and work environment abuse is not part of its function. A private meeting or confrontation may not be effective because the manager may use his/her position to continue to bully the nurse.
