Answer to Question 1

Ans: A
Feedback:
Assertive behavior that clearly lets the complainers know that the nurse will not now or ever be joining their group but the nurse will certainly be able to work with them. This is the nurse's first job and leaving it would have a negative impact on the nurse and nurse's rsum. Being assertive should precede the involvement of a manager. A nursing organization would be unlikely to help.

Answer to Question 2

Ans: A
Feedback:
Grievance procedures describe the problem resolution process for the employee with an employer. Collective bargaining is used to represent the rights of the employees as a whole within the union, and in this situation, only one employee is having the work-related dispute. The means to communicate an issue to the union is to file a grievance with the employer, and the union can help, if the nurse calls the union representative for assistance. The disciplinary procedure is between an employer and the employee and is not the case with the situation because the nurse worked all required shifts, but the employer asked for more shifts than originally agreed upon. Arbitration is used to settle a grievance, if the employer and employee cannot resolve the conflict on their own, so it is too early to bring in arbitration.
