If the nurse's religious convictions forbid him or her from being involved in any way with abortions, he or she should look for another job. It is highly unlikely that the new owners will change their philosophy to accommodate his or her personal beliefs. Picketing is inappropriate and a mediator is not necessary.

The licensed practical/vocational nurse demonstrates ethical behavior by showing accountability and taking personal responsibility to do no harm when taking care of the client. The RN violates sterile technique and places the client at risk for an infection.
