Answer to Question 1

ANS: 1, 2
First the nurse should acknowledge the patient's emotion and attempt to learn more. Assertive communication can be therapeutic, and it would be appropriate to tell the patient the behavior is unacceptable.

Answer to Question 2

ANS: 4
All of these are examples of passive-aggressive behavior, which is common among nurses. People who exhibit this behavior are not focused on solving problems and helping others to understand, learn, or change.

Your skin wrinkles if you stay in the bathtub a long time because the outermost layer of skin (which consists of dead keratin) swells when it absorbs water. It is tightly attached to the skin below it, so it compensates for the increased area by wrinkling. This happens to the hands and feet because they have the thickest layer of dead keratin cells.
