Differ: Infectious forest diseases are usually caused by parasitesliving organisms that attach to, feed from, or
enter the bodies of trees. Noninfectious diseases are generally caused by environmental problems such as acid
rain, ice, drought, or flooding.
 Alike: They both cause the affected tree to be less healthy or even die.

Natural controlsthe use of natural insect enemies to control them.
 Biological controlsthe introduction of predators or pathogens to control insects.
 Management controlsthe use of clearing, fire, or other management techniques.
