Answer to Question 1

Fungus diseases can be reduced greatly by following these good cultural practices:
Select well-drained soils to protect against root diseases.
Maintain soil aeration and help control diseases by adding compost.
 Practice crop rotation.
Use compost as a source of plant food.
Space plants wide for good air movement.
Test the soil and adjust pH.
Use organic preventive sprays whenever possible.
 Select disease-resistant plants.
Clean up the garden at season's end to remove all plants.

Answer to Question 2

Answers will vary, but may include that bio-products are environmentally friendly, do
not last as long, and break down into the ecosystem as pros, and the fact that they are
more expensive than synthetic pesticides and more challenging to incorporate into conventional systems as cons.
