Answer to Question 1

C
The avoidance of caffeine and alcohol will promote a healthy sleep pattern. Avoiding large heavy meals close to bedtime and not eating up to three hours before bedtime will promote healthy sleep patterns. All activity should stop before bedtime, including not watching television. Activity should be stopped 30 minutes prior to bedtime. The use of yoga or other stretching before bedtime can facilitate muscle relaxation, which promotes sleep.

Answer to Question 2

3. Healthy pregnant women should exercise at least 30 minutes on most if not all days.

Rationale:
The current recommendation of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists is for healthy pregnant women to get as much exercise as the general population (30 minutes on most if not all days). This is a change from their previous recommendation that pregnant women can exercise if exercise was a part of their life prior to pregnancy. There is no indication that exercise should be limited to no more than 10 minutes per day. There is no indication that the pregnant woman needs more exercise than the general population.
