Within the Eastern cultures, the human body is viewed as a complex network of meridians which are pathways for distributed vital energy called qi. Within Western cultures, the human body is made up of interrelated systems of muscles, tissues, bones, nerves, blood vessels, cells, and organs. Within the Indian culture, the human body is a complex of energy centers and channels that distribute vital energy, called prana, throughout the body. There is no specific human body view that is considered European.
