If it is not treated, chlamydia can cause PID, ectopic pregnancy, infertility, and neonatal compli-cations. Either uterine cancer or HIV is directly connected to chlamydia.

Gonorrhea, chlamydia, syphilis, and pelvic inflammatory disease (PID) are caused by bacteria and are usually curable with antibiotics. All clients need to understand that antibiotics need to be taken for the full course of treatment. Genital herpes and genital warts are viral and are not cura-ble.
