Cromolyn is effective for asthma prophylaxis; in patients with food allergies to prevent GI reac-tions; in patients with allergic rhinitis, eczema, and other forms of dermatitis; in patients with chronic urticaria; and in asthma patients with postexercise bronchospasm. This drug should not be used to manage acute attacks of asthma.
