A sub-contractor reports that the approved material is no longer in production. The sub-contractor then brings in data claiming the superiority of a new substitute product. The resident project representative should:

The Construction Specification Institute (CSI) Master Format is included in the CSI Manual of Practice (2008) and the CSI Master Format (2004) and it is a process that is used to organize specifications. The CSI Master Format divides projects into sixteen divisions and each item in a project is included under one of the sixteen divisions. Each of the sixteen divisions is divided into three subdivisions that are called 1) Broadscope, 2) Mediumscope, and 3) Narrowscope.
