 Men and women share many common concerns as adults, such as autonomy, attachment, love, and work; therefore, many mixed-gender groups are productive
 Socialization influences the way men and women see themselves and behave in society, and gender roles often affect men and women differently; therefore, in some cases, gender-specific groups are more appropriate
