The liver has been affected but not permanently damaged and will repair itself, but it needs a good supply of protein to accomplish this. Since all alcohol is metabolized through the liver, any additional alcohol will cause additional damage.

Elevated CRP indicates inflammation, and if other indicators are present to indicate atherosclerosis, like elevated LDL and total cholesterol along with low HDL, the chances are increased that atherosclerosis has formed in some stage. The higher the CRP, the greater the inflammation. Elevated homocysteine could indicate a risk factor for atherosclerosis.
