Answer to Question 1

This is a surgical procedure that restructures the lower end of the esophagus and the fundus. The fundus is shortened by surgically making tucks and is brought up around the esophagus. The procedure is completed in an attempt to correct reflux espophagitis.

Answer to Question 2

a . When the birth weight has doubled.
b. When the infant can sit up with support and can control his head movements.
c. When the infant has reached four to six months, if the above criteria are met.
