Answer to Question 1

A
Feedback:
Individuals who are lactose intolerant should avoid products whose ingredients list contains butter, cream, milk, milk solids, or whey. Many powdered meal replacement supplements contain hidden lactose. Yogurt is a low-lactose food, which may be tolerated in small servings.

Answer to Question 2

A
All individuals with type 1 diabetes mellitus require treatment with exogenous insulin. Many in-dividuals with type 2 diabetes are treated with diet and exercise or diet, exercise, and oral hy-poglycemic medications; only the most severe cases require exogenous insulin. Insulin is some-times, but not always, prescribed for individuals with gestational diabetes. Impaired glucose to-lerance is treated with diet and exercise only.
