Answer to Question 1

D
Grapefruit or grapefruit juice increases bioavailability and therefore increases beneficial or ad-verse effects of several drugs. Orange, cranberry, and pineapple juices do not have this effect.

Answer to Question 2

1
Rationale: Products containing calcium should be avoided with fluroquinolones because calcium can decrease their absorption by 75 and result in treatment failure. Foods high in sodium do not affect absorption. Citrus juice alone has been linked with poor absorption of certain medications, but sodas containing citrus juice have not been shown to have the same effect. Gluten has no effect on fluroquinolone absorption.
