John sends a letter to Kyle offering to sell his vintage book collection for 3,000. Kyle calls John and asks questions about the collection. In response, John sends Kyle a complete printed inventory of his books, listing them by title, author, date, publisher, and condition. Based on the inventory, Kyle sends a letter to John indicating his interest in buying the books, but lowering the price to 2,500. John responds with a letter stating that he cannot sell the books for less than 2,800, and that if Kyle is willing to pay that price by the following Thursday, John will deliver the books by that date. John's last letter making a counteroffer of 2,800 payable on Thursday, Kyle's last letter accepting that counteroffer, and the printed inventory which lists the specific books being sold.
