Based on the inventory, Kyle sends a letter to John indicating his interest in buying the books, but lowering the price to 2,500. John responds with a letter stating that he cannot sell the books for less than 2,800, and that if Kyle is willing to pay that price by the following Thursday, John will deliver the books by that date.
