What will be an ideal response?

Question 2

Restaurant managers are busy. Their ongoing work involving scheduling and supervising staff, maintaining quality standards and monitoring the budget to identify the need for corrective actions, among many duties, is a full-time job.

How much priority should a manager give to longer-term planning and improvement concerns? Should the manager delegate some/all of this responsibility to others? If so, to whom?

Answer to Question 1

Dark place with a moderate temperature

Answer to Question 2

It is clear that long-range planning will never get done if planning is done when the manager gets around to it. Long-range planning, like many other management responsibilities, cannot be done all at the same time. Managers should set aside some time each week or other time period to undertake, on a step-by-step basis, the basic process for long-range planning.

Clearly the total responsibility for long-range planning cannot be delegated to subordinates. However, their input should be solicited, and they can provide significant input to departmental plans that support the restaurant's overall plan.

Every flu season is different, and even healthy people can get extremely sick from the flu, as well as spread it to others. The flu season can begin as early as October and last as late as May. Every person over six months of age should get an annual flu vaccine. The vaccine cannot cause you to get influenza, but in some seasons, may not be completely able to prevent you from acquiring influenza due to changes in causative viruses. The viruses in the flu shot are killed—there is no way they can give you the flu. Minor side effects include soreness, redness, or swelling where the shot was given. It is possible to develop a slight fever, and body aches, but these are simply signs that the body is responding to the vaccine and making itself ready to fight off the influenza virus should you come in contact with it.
