Assume that you are working as a manager of an all you care to eat operation where you serve over 2000 meals per day. There are five major stations:
 
   one serves Asian food;
 
    one serves Italian food including pizza and pasta;
 
    one serves deli sandwiches, some pre-prepared, some made to order
 
    one is a traditional grill line with hamburgers, french fries, etc.
 
    one is a traditional hot line, serving comfort food and casserole type dishes
 
   Your students are complaining that the menu is boring. How would you address the situation?
 
   What could be some of the implications of your decision?

  a. Felony conviction or misdemeanor narcotics conviction
  b. Any criminal charges regardless of outcome

Answer to Question 1

Assume all of these stations rotate their menus to provide some variation on a daily basis in addition to standard items that are always in demand. Some options you could suggest:

 better promotions to emphasize daily specials

 changing out one of the stations so that it rotates a type of food every two to four weeks
(e.g. Mexican, Caribbean, Greek, etc.)

 introduce a recipe from home contest in which students suggest favorites from their own background, which are evaluated, scaled up, and featured in some way, perhaps at the comfort food station.

 modification of one of the stations to emphasize more display cooking

 highly promoted survey of students to find out the kinds of food they would like to see, with a strategy for introducing weekly specials to reflect specific feedback.
