Answer to Question 1

This type of research allows the researcher to probe people for more details,
collect richer data that should help create stronger arguments, and ask follow-up questions to
better understand a person's responses.

Answer to Question 2

Nominal data is collected to verify that the sample closely resembles the target
audience such as sex and geographic location. It usually places people into categories. Interval
data examines the extent to which a participant agrees with a statement or how often something
is done such as how many people hold a particular attitude or have engaged in a set of behaviors.
