Answer to Question 1

Answer: Answers will vary. Here are some possible examples. The tip to refresh your memory is important because officers are a key witness and can often make or break a case. If an officer is not prepared and has not review the notes of the case, they will not appear credible. The tip to tell the truth is extremely important because if the defense attorney shows one discrepancy from the officer's testimony, then the jury might not believe the rest of the testimony. The tip to not discuss the case outside the courtroom is important because any negative comments can slant a jury, or evidence shared in the hallway may fall into the hands of a defense attorney.

Answer to Question 2

Answer: Answers will vary. The example should represent direct examination questions that are open-ended with the establishment of facts, followed by cross-examination in which more closed ended questions are asked that might lend towards discrediting a witness.

Every flu season is different, and even healthy people can get extremely sick from the flu, as well as spread it to others. The flu season can begin as early as October and last as late as May. Every person over six months of age should get an annual flu vaccine. The vaccine cannot cause you to get influenza, but in some seasons, may not be completely able to prevent you from acquiring influenza due to changes in causative viruses. The viruses in the flu shot are killed—there is no way they can give you the flu. Minor side effects include soreness, redness, or swelling where the shot was given. It is possible to develop a slight fever, and body aches, but these are simply signs that the body is responding to the vaccine and making itself ready to fight off the influenza virus should you come in contact with it.
