Answer: Englands common law was only a set of unwritten regulations. Common law emanated from various
court decisions. Today, legislative enactments have greatly expanded the common law.

Answer: Venue refers to the geographic area in which a case may be heard. Jurisdiction refers to the power of a
court to hear certain types of cases.
