She is the mother of a 1-year-old son, and she works nights and weekends as a waitress. Kelly recently went to her physician complaining of sporadic burning pain in her stomach when she eats. Antibiotics and proton pump inhibitors, H2 blockers, or antacids. Antibiotics fight H. pylori infection; the others are antisecretory drugs that help to relieve pain and allow healing. Bismuth preparations and sucralfate may help coat the GI lining and prevent further damage.
