2 . Aluminum may be important to reproduction, bone formation, DNA synthesis, and behavior. It is found in many baked goods, grains, some vegetables, tea, and many antacids.
3 . Silicon is important to bone growth in laboratory animals. Silicon's dietary sources include whole-grain products, and it is also used as a food additive.
4 . Vanadium influences cell growth and differentiation, and it may affect thyroid hormone metabolism. Dietary sources include mushrooms, shellfish, and black pepper.
5 . Arsenic may be a cofactor for a variety of enzymes, and may be important to DNA synthesis. Seafood and whole grains are good sources of arsenic.
6 . Boron is especially important to reproduction in laboratory animals, and its deficiency causes severe fetal malformations. Boron is found in fruits, leafy vegetables, legumes, and nuts.
