Social marketing is a strategy for changing consumer behavior by combining the best elements of consumer behavior theory with marketing tools and skills to help consumers change their beliefs, attitudes, values, actions, or behaviors. Traditional marketing seeks to satisfy the needs and wants of targeted consumers and social marketing aims to change their attitudes and/or behavior. Examples of successful social marketing campaigns include: Got Milk? Eat Fresh, Buy Local, and Fruits and VeggiesMore Matters..

Answer to Question 2

If the choices were to continue as they are, the children might gain weight, and their diets may lack fiber and several key vitamins and minerals. Malnutrition, in terms of over- and under-nutrition, might become evident. In time, these might also become the purchasing selections of the children.
