The FAO and WHO recommendations are considered sufficient for the maintenance of health in nearly all people. They differ from the DRIs because they are based on slightly different judgment factors and serve different purposes. The FAO/WHO recommendations take into consideration people worldwide; however, for the most part, the various recommendations fall within the same general range.
