Hydrocholorithiazides are potassium-depleting diuretics (may need K+ supplementation).
 Sodium and kcal may need to be reduced
 Avoid natural licorice
 Anorexia
 Thirst
 Dry mouth
 N/V
 GI irritation
 Diarrhea/constipation
 Limit alcohol

Answer to Question 2

 Tissue plasminogen activator (tPA) is an enzyme normally found on the surface of endothelial cells of veins, capillaries, the pulmonary artery, the heart, and the uterus. It is secreted after vascular injury.
 Recombinant tPA (rtPA) is a tissue plasminogen activator produced by recombinant DNA technology.
 It is administered to heart attack and stroke patients to help dissolve clots.
