Answer to Question 1

- Gather the drawings, samples, photos, and choose the board type
- Work out the sample arrangement, including border and title block before cutting materials. If you do cut them, cut them bigger than needed.
- Decide if the samples will be top-mounted or back-mounted.
- Cut the drawings and photos to size, using a clear ruler to mark cutting edges. Spray-glue to illustration board and trim
- For fabrics, use a pinking shears or a rotary cutter.
- Cut a piece of matboard to size, add quilt batting for an upholstered look; cut it to the size of the matboard. Wrap the fabric around the matboard and cut excess to reduce bulk. Secure with tape.
- Mount heavy samples with a combination of tacky glue and a glue gun.
- Print a title block on art paper and attach to illustration board with a glue stick. Then align the title block with a T-square on the work table edge.
- Attach all illustration-board mounted pieces to the base board.
- Create a label strip with a label maker or print on stickyback, then attach it to the baseboard
- The board should be linked to a key, which is a list that describes the project's finishes and furniture
