It may also indicate that there is no pattern present, and that what the teacher noticed about a bruise and limp might have been the result of a fall. The records should be kept in the child's health record in case there is need to refer to them again. If a teacher is still uncertain, he or she should talk to others on the staff to see what they think. In the end, if the teacher reasonably suspects that maltreatment has occurred, it must be reported.
