 They set up classroom mailboxes, parent advisory committees, and/or parent councils.
 They reach parents with e-mails, phone messages, newsletters, planned meetings, reading groups, workshops and daily face-to-face contacts. They conduct surveys, send questionnaires or checklists and have suggestion boxes.

A high achievement orientation, strong kinship bonds, strong work orientation, adaptable family roles, religious orientation, family beliefs and values, quality interactions with parents, high family value on education and a social environment where learning flourished
