Answer to Question 1

ANSWER:
Teachers should recognize developmentally equivalent patterns; not value some ways of achieving developmental milestones more highly than others; start teaching in ways that are familiar to children; understand school learning is most likely to occur when family values reinforce family expectations; and deal with discrepancies between home and school directly.

Answer to Question 2

ANSWER:
Spend time with the child; be aware of the childs actions and feelings; ask open-ended questions; be aware of your own feelings; give reassurance and comfort; welcome childrens talking about it; provide structure throughout the day; work with parents and significant adults; adapt the curriculum, giving the child more time for relaxation and therapeutic experiences of playing with sand, water, clay, and play dough as well as allowing plenty of time for working out concerns through dramatic play and physical release.
