Using Piaget's theory, describe how thinking changes in infancy from birth through the second year of life. In your answer, describe changes in the nature of thinking and give examples of specific intellectual abilities which emerge.

You are an infant care provider. A number of the children you care for are in Piaget's substage 4 and are between 8 and 12 months of age. Design one innovative toy, game, finger play, or other activity to enhance each of the following abilities at this age: object permanence, causality, and imitation. Describe how each activity or material enhances the skill it is designed to enhance.
