Explain the basics of developing an introductory walking program for a sedentary individual.

The beginning walking program developed by the American College of Sports Medicine has three protocols based on level of fitness. They include daily walking times for six weeks for Level 1 individuals (not walked aerobically in years), Level 2 individuals (slightly more fit than level 1), and Level 3 (participated in some aerobic walking).
